What to Expect
You recently had sex and you’re concerned.
Maybe you’re experiencing pregnancy-like symptoms. Maybe you’ve even missed your period.
Or, after sex you’ve developed an itch and think you may have caught something. Maybe your partner tested positive for Chlamydia and you’re concerned you might have it too.
Whatever the reason, you’re thinking it might be a good idea to come in. You’ve heard good things about Life Options, but you’re just not sure what to expect and you’re a little scared.
We understand. Many of our clients tell us they felt the same way. We thought it might be helpful if we share a little about what you should expect on your first visit.
Expect Free
No need to worry about insurance paperwork or how you are going to pay for a service. All of our services are offered completely free of charge to you, including pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, pregnancy counseling, STD testing & treatment, parenting classes, and after-abortion support.
Expect Confidential
You don’t have to worry about anyone else finding out, because we keep what you share with us strictly confidential. You are welcome to bring a friend or relative to your appointment, but your initial consultation will be a one-on-one conversation between you and your advocate to ensure your complete confidentiality.
Expect Friendly
We’re committed to caring about you, first and foremost. So when you call, expect a friendly voice on the line to greet you, answer your questions, and schedule you for the next available appointment that works for you. Same-day appointments are usually available.
When you come to any of our offices or mobile unit, you'll be greeted by a friendly receptionist. You should plan for about an hour for your appointment. We believe in taking the time to get to know you a bit, so we won’t be rushing to get to the next appointment. We want to have time to talk and make sure we have answered all your questions.
Expect Easy
Because we don’t have to worry about insurance, paperwork is minimal and fast. You'll fill out a Welcome Form, then meet with one of our staff members and talk about why you are visiting Life Options. Then, we’ll run any tests you might need. Both pregnancy tests & STD tests are done with a urine sample.
With a pregnancy test, you’ll have the results right away, and then our staff will answer any questions you may have and offer support and referrals. If you're pregnant, we’ll schedule you for an ultrasound to confirm the viability of the pregnancy and see how far along you are.
If you’re here for STI testing for Chlamydia & Gonorrhea, those samples will be sent away to the lab. Typically it takes about 5-7 days to get results, so we’ll schedule a follow up appointment for you to get your results and any treatment you might need. We’ll provide free treatment right here, so you don’t need to worry about getting a prescription filled.
Expect Honest
At Life Options, we believe that honesty is the best policy. We’ll give you straightforward and accurate information about all of your options related to pregnancy and STD/STI prevention and treatment.
Our services are available regardless of age, sex, race, religion, or marital status. We are dedicated to serving you and helping you in any way you can. We promise to provide quality care for your most personal concerns, and make you as comfortable as possible.
Expect No Judgment
At Life Options, we truly care about you. Our aim is to provide a safe, confidential, judgment-free environment where you can find support and clarity. We’ll take the time to talk about your personal situation and answer any questions you may have so you can be fully informed and make the best decision possible.
